last night i had the privilege of seeing my friend nancy pearl give her "schtick" as she likes to call it. she's funny. really funny. she had the audience bursting into fits of giggles and guffaws for a full hour and a half. they were so appreciative of her candor and generosity; nancy loves books as much as she loves sharing them, and it shows.
after her talk she walked right up to me, gave me a hug, looked me in the eyes, and said,
"you know, i really think you should go to library school. but i thought you WERE a librarian!"
so there you have it: the most famous librarian, telling me to become a librarian. hmmmm.

Don't fight it. The world needs more librarians (now THAT is a good bumper sticker slogan).
Ah, that's the best: when someone thinks you're already a librarian, but you didn't have to go to library school!
hmmmm....
say it, ryan. come on, let's hear it. :)
i respect and agree with nancy pearl's opinion and so does marcia w. go for it.
i'd jump off a bridge if nancy pearl told me to do so.
when nancy speaks, you best be listening.
but better yet - when you hear your heart speak, you best be listening.
=)
