this morning we showed up at the converted parking lot, ready to bring home a cutie.
i'm not a serious tree shopper, but i do have a firm philosophy, centered around the charlie brown christmas story.
each tree i purchase follows the christmas branch rule: i buy the forgotten, funky, and unwanted tree.
this year, it was a 7-foot, misshapen, and slightly brown (in spots) beauty. it was also "on special." when i lingered around these forgotten greens, one of the workers said, "you like the specials, huh?"
"yeah, i like the funky trees," i replied.
"they need a hoooommme!"
so true. when he gingerly carried our tree away, another worker said, "that's charlie!"
precisely.
