when i send or receive an e-mail, mozilla thunderbird automatically adds the e-mail address to my address book. i can turn off this feature, but i prefer not having to manage my contact list--my e-mail client does it for me.
but if i were to send an e-mail to everyone in my address book, all sorts of people i don't know well would receive it. that's what must have happened today when a person included me in a mass e-mail, announcing their move to portland. i had no idea who this person was, and it was clear the e-mail was not spam. a quick search of my inbox offered the answer: i corresponded with this person in seattle via craigslist about free moving boxes. perhaps i should share my new address, too. :)
