unique request

david and i were on an urgent quest today, searching for a sofa to replace the beloved green one, compromised by a homesick kitty (check out a photo, mere hours before the incident). such a lovely sofa, a remnant of an era that is now in our past.

we walked the streets of the mission district seeking another piece that would catch our eyes and also fit in my car. when we crossed the threshold of yet another vintage shop, a salesperson inquired if he could take my picture with an item to show a potential customer. eager to help, i obliged:

lucky for me, david caught it on film.

and lucky for us, we found, bought, and drove home a sofa from the shop next door.

Uh oh. I take it Nene and the couch went to battle with Nene as the winner?

jini - here's a nice shot of our new couch.

amy - indeed. nene totally won.

Please tell me that's not a *real* rifle! I can just hear you explain that photo when it shows up in your FBI file...

not real. wooden. :)

the dude who owns the gun said, "don't point it at anyone" just as this photo was being taken.

i'm with sandy.....i was thinking about the photo appearing in all kinds of interesting places. :(
i like the new green sofa by the way, and it appears you are trusting savannah to show her love by sitting on it!

that i should not be asking this, since, um, i was staying with nene while you two were gone... but what happened!? was there a repeat performance of the pillow-incident? yikes! and the vet? i'm so confused/sad/worried/not sure if somehow did something horrible to the poor little creature.

greg, you're cool.
nene is cool.

yes, she had repeat moments like that of the pillow incident for several days (R.I.P. green sofa).

methinks the vacuum cleaner run-in in her litter closet was the culprit, but there are other valid hypotheses surrounding her behavior.

the upshot is everyone is cool, and we want you to come over soon to experience the new green sofa. :)
