days like these take me back a couple decades, when seattle was a far-off place, and i was more interested in boys, hiding late-night phone sessions from my parents, and other junior high priorities. it was during those days that i remember dad remarking, "on a sunny day, seattle is the prettiest place on earth." the hyperbole may lack in accuracy, but my latent understanding of his comment coaxes a nod of recognition. you were right, dad.
